KAUST EXPERIENCIAL EXHIBITION

BRIEFING

The Kaust University in Jeddah requested for the redesigning of an existing ground floor space of one of its buildings to ensure that as well as functioning as a reception could also house a diversity of other activities
the most prominent of which would be that of experiential exhibition that would showcase the university to potential investors.

SOLUTION

The proposal safeguards the architectural coherence and continuity of the existing building whilst developing a highly recognisable environment for the experiential exhibition.
All existing spaces are united into a single space that is reorganised by inserting a series of diverse “objects” that will generate a variety of very specific and diverse environments.
All objects will be clearly distinguishable from the building and will express their almost clandestine nature expressing the way they are literally inserted into the building.
Central to the exhibition is the Experiential Capsule that will offer visitors key multimedia systems that will provide a fully interactive and immersive experience.

The lounge will be formed by sound-absorbent partitions that will form semi-enclosures that will provide meeting and informal meeting corners.
